Biography
Cameron Richardson was born on September 11, 1979 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Cameron was raised in New Jersey and moved to New York City to pursue a career in modeling. As a model, Cameron was able to move to Japan and upon her return to the states, her agents felt that she had that “spark” it takes to be an actress. Cameron took her agents advice and began auditioning for acting jobs – she landed the role as Celeste Arno in the USA original show “Cover Me: Based on the True Life of an FBI Family” on her very first audition.
Smaller roles in movies, both major and independent soon followed. In 2003, Cameron landed a role on the critical hit “Skin”, although it was canceled after only 5 episodes, many critics and fans alike thought the show was a winner. Cameron continued to work in both television and film, and in 2006 landed one of the lead roles in “Open Water 2: Adrift”.
In 2007, Cameron starred in two feature films – “Rise” and “Alvin & The Chipmunks” and the never-aired HBO show “12 Miles of Bad Road”. Like “Skin”, “12 Miles of Bad Road” was a critical success, but HBO decided to never air any episodes it ordered. There are many petitions going around by fans to get HBO to listen and air the show.
Coming up for Cameron in 2008 are the thriller “Twisted” and the drama “Familiar Strangers”. And Cameron has signed on to star in the comedy “Hard Breakers”, which is currently in post-production.
Cameron currently resides in Los Angeles, California. She is dating Ben Shulman, the brother of actress / singer Juliette Lewis.
With less than 10 years of a career behind her, Cameron has many more years on the big screen and small screen ahead of her for fans to enjoy.
